Although most readers of my column are located in other parts of the world, I wanted to let everybody know that I will be giving a seminar next month here in Davao City.  Here are the details:

You CAN earn a living in the Philippines, no matter what you think, or what others tell you.

With the growth of the Internet and the tremendous money-making potential of online tools, trends, and technologies, a good income is indeed possible. Your income potential is only limited by how hard you are willing to study and then apply your knowledge.

Is it possible to be a 100% virtual earner, earning your money from the Internet? What are the ways in which you can make money at home, using your own computer? What does it take to become an Internet Entrepreneur? How does one succeed at an online business in the midst of today’s economic crises?

Bob Martin asked those same questions when he moved from the United States to the Philippines. Now living in Davao City and making his name as one of the top Internet Entrepreneurs in the country, “Mindanao Bob” is making more money now than when he lived in the USA.  Bob wants to show you how you can do it too!

With Virtual Earner: A Business Forum by Bob Martin, you can uncover many ways to earn a living in the Philippines. Invest in the potential of the Internet and reap the benefits of strategic online, offline and hybrid ideas for business. Don’t miss this opportunity to discover and prove –as Bob did– that making a living in the Philippines is NOT IMPOSSIBLE!

VIRTUAL EARNER: A Business Forum by Bob Martin

Speaker: Bob Martin
Venue: K-1 Coffee Shop, F. Torres Street, Davao City

The forum is created to provide an intimate and informal venue for learning how to make a living in the Philippines. It will also serve as a medium for opportunities to discuss new technologies, products, services, and business ideas with a qualified expert who has explored the possibilities on the Internet to become an 100% Virtual Earner.

Who is Bob Martin?

Bob Martin is an Internet entrepreneur based in Davao City. An American who has lived in Mindanao for the past eight years, Bob has resided in General Santos City, and now in Davao City, while owning and managing dozens of Internet Businesses.

For the past seven years, Bob has made his living exclusively through the Internet. He serves customers all around the world, and has used the Internet to enhance his earning ability to the point that he is making more money now than when he lived in the USA and had a regular job.  Bob wants to show you how you can do that too!

“Becoming successful on the Internet is great, but one thing I really enjoy is helping others achieve the same,” says Bob. “It makes me feel good if I can show somebody a few simple methods, or share my thoughts with them, and watch them learn how to make a living themselves. I don’t really like it when others copy what I am doing, but when they look at what I do, and mold it a little bit to fit their interests, they can come up with something that is patterned after me yet totally different from my business. I think that is great, and it gives me a lot of joy to see a friend become successful by doing this.”

Bob has a business background in Retailing and in Manufacturing, having previously managed discount department stores and an electronics store in the USA. He is also a published author of more than a dozen books. His latest book is entitled 49 Ways to Make a Living in the Philippines.

Early Bird Bonus! - For the first 10 people who sign up and attend the seminar, they will receive a FREE COPY of Bob’s book, 49 Ways to Make a Living in the Philippines!  That’s right, a book that is selling for $49.00 will be yours free when you sign up and pay to participate in the seminar(but, only for the first 10 people)!  So, don’t miss out, sign up today!

To register for the seminar, please e-mail or call (or text) John at (0921) 467-8372. Remember, the first 10 people who register will get a free copy of Bob’s eBook, 49 Ways to earn a living in the Philippines!

  1. Dave Starr says:

Glad you finally got it put together, Bob, I hope it will be a big success, and as soon as you get this one ‘done and dusted’, let’s work on a northern version ;-)

  2. Bob says:

Hi Dave Starr - Originally, the seminar was planned for today, but other things came up and prevented that from happening. I do intend to do something up north too. I want to see how the Davao seminar goes first though, before making a commitment to doing one in Manila or the Manila area. A lot of people know who I am down here, and I don’t know that I have much following in Manila, so it’s best for me to see how well received this seminar is first!

  3. Steve says:

    Bob,
I wish I could be there for your seminar. I have your book and I am planning to move to Davao this fall to live. I have a pension from the military but I want a little extra to live the way I want to.
I read your column every day and have commented before.
    Good Luck
    Steve

  4. Bob says:

Hi Steve - Thank you for your kind words! If the seminar is a success, I will continue to give them from time to time in the future, so perhaps you will be here for one at some point! I wish you all the best!

  5. Randy C says:

Hi Bob - I hope it’s a great success. I really admire your ambition and drive. For a guy that supposedly doesn’t work that many hours a day, you sure have a lot happening

  6. Bob says:

Hi Randy C - Well, I try to keep my work down to only a few hours per day. I am not always successful on that!

    Thanks for stopping by!

BTW, Randy, it looks like we are about to have a new neighbor in Samal, somebody that you are probably familiar with! It’s not for sure yet, so I won’t say who, but perhaps soon I will be letting you know.

  7. Randy C says:

Hi Bob - sounds intriguing. I was going to start guessing, but I’ll just wait until it’s official. One person in particular comes to mind though. Guess I’ll see if I’m right.

  8. Bob says:

Hi Randy C - I just sent you an e-mail….

  9. Henry says:

Bob, this is great! Too bad I’m not yet there in the Philippines, but will be next spring. Have you given any thought to making this an event to hold several times a year? Perhaps a quarterly seminar series? Just a thought!

    Cheers,
    Henry S

  10. Bob says:

Hi Henry - Yes, I do plan to have repeats on this seminar from time to time. This will be my first one, so we’ll see how successful it is, and that will have some impact in deciding the future for additional seminars!

  11. John Miele says:

Bob… Great idea… You know. For those people overseas, you could try a “webinar” format and allow live interaction. Just a thought.

  12. Bob says:

Hi John Miele - Thanks for the suggestion! Good idea.

  13. R L Graham says:

Just discovered LITP last week. Am VERY intrigued. Agree with John Miele about a webinar.I would sign up, for sure. As a side point, I don’t think anybody copies what you are doing. They may copy the technology but get lost in the execution. But I understand why when it feels to you like it is getting close to the same. You are a lot like MJ. After all, all he did is dribble a basketball down the court and throw it in the hoop, right? How hard can that be? :)

  14. Larry says:

    Bob
Could you have a seminar between January 15 and February 3 of 2009 in the Visayas so my wife ant I can take you and Feyma out for some Delmonte steaks  . Good luck with your Seminar. I am sure it will be a success. Wish I could attend but an 8000 mile flight might be a bit long to attend a seminar.

  15. Joe Parisi says:

    Bob,

Drat, I won’t be getting to Manila until August 7th, and my wife has the first few days planned, so there is no way I can make it down to Mindanao that soon..Oh well, I would have liked to have seen it.

  16. Bob says:

Hi R L Graham - Thank you so much for a wonderful compliment! I’m like MJ? It doesn’t get much better than that!

  17. Bob says:

Hi Larry - Yes, that might be a bit of a jaunt! Maybe another time!

  18. Bob says:

Hi Joe Parisi - I’ll be looking forward to meeting you if you visit Davao!

  19. jerry smith says:

bob , do you have this same seminar available for the internet people also ? hope to get the peso price though ha ha .

  20. Bob says:

Hi jerry smith - Actually, I am a little surprised at the reaction of people mentioning that they would like a webinar, or some sort of Internet access to such a seminar. It is something I had not really considered much, but with the reaction here, I will consider it, and I would say that it is likely that I will do something like that. Don’t worry on the price, I don’t think I would be going up any on the price for such a webinar.

  21. jerry smith says:

that was only a joke on the price. but i think i would be interested in the internet though . maybe somthing we can buy and watch over and over. you know i think maybe a cd might do the trick.maybe a dvd {bob martin seminar davao 2008} thanks bob.

  22. John Miele says:

Bob, a good friend of mine in California built his business using the webinar format. He is a world Karate champion and teaches martial arts to Hollywood celebrities. He basically offers training over the Net… For example, he will visit some master in Hawaii, set up the cameras in the karate studio, and broadcast via a two-way link. The master can also see what the viewers are doing online. The whole thing is recorded and available for download afterward for a fee, if you happen to miss the time. He has made a decent living from this, by the way, getting nearly as much $$$$ as a live lesson.

  23. Bob says:

Hi jerry smith - Thanks for the suggestion! it is certainly something I’ll keep in mind.

  24. Bob says:

Hi John Miele - I do think that it is an idea that has some merit, and I am seriously considering doing it! I thank you for your encouragement!

  25. gerry says:

Hi Bob, lucky for me as I have just returned to the Phils for a 4 week vacation, so I have been able to sign up to attend. I was sitting waiting for my connection in Amsterdam airport on Saturday reading your site, sent a text staright away and I believe I am in the first 10 :-)
I just have to arrange a flight from wherever I am in the Phils at that time. Any suggestions as to the best and nearest hotel that I can book.

    Look forward to meeting you.

    Gerry

  26. Bob says:

Hi gerry - I’m looking forward to meeting you too! Yes, John told me that you signed up. Actually, you signed up through John, and I got an e-mail sign-up at the exact same time, and you guys are #1 and #2, so you will be getting the full book!

See you in a couple of weeks!

  27. Bob says:

Hi gerry - I’m sorry, I forgot to reply regarding a hotel. It really depends on your budget. Here are a few suggestions:

    1. Marco Polo Hotel - if you are looking for a really first class place. Marco Polo is a 5 Star Hotel, the only such place in Mindanao. You could expect to pay P3,000 to P5,000 per night, depending on what kind of specials they are offering.

    2. Apo View Hotel - mid-range hotel, expect to pay P2,000 to P2,500 per night or so.

    3. We ‘R Inn - Budget hotel, but clean and decent. P800 to P1000 per night.

  28. chas says:

Hi Bob,Unfortunately i’m not in Phils to attend, but Good Luck with your seminar,i hope it goes well, regards Chas.

  29. Bob says:

Hi chas - Thanks for your kind wishes!

  30. Bob New York says:

You know Bob I have seen so many promotions for these seminars from people I have never heard of and I have often wondered if the Seminars are where these people really make their money, selling nothing more than just ” ideas “. You are the first person that I know that has really ” Talked the Talk and Walked The Walk ” and can prove it, not just by showing other people with big fancy houses etc. on a TV informercial.

I wish I could attend your seminar myself but it is just too far and the wrong time of the year for that. However I have such confidence in you that I am going to send one of my Filipino friends to your seminar in the hopes that they too can earn a decent living there. This shows how much confidence I have in your comment and advice, Highly Accurate.

For the benefit of the other readers here, This has NOT been a paid testimonial for Bob Martins Enterprises. It is from my own personal on line dealings with Bob Martin in questions I had about visiting what to me was once ” The Unknown “………….Mindanao. Best vacation I ever had too !

  31. Bob says:

Hi Bob New York - Wow, thanks for your nice testimonial there! I appreciate your thoughts very much. I will do my very best to help the person that you will send to the seminar! I can’t make any guarantees, except that I will do my best for him/her. Thank you again.
