The broken on will be fixed for like 1/5 the cost of a new one, so that is the way to go, at least this time. As for getting a broken unit to the junk man, in my experience is that the junk man will come around to your place every so often and ask if you have anything for him. In most cases, you get it fixed once and it's good to go for years again. Let me just add that I am not talking about some sidewalk electronics repairman on this... we took it to the factory service department, so these guys should know what they are doing.
