I am considering a flight back home to the Philippines on Korean Airlines. Delta is three for three with baggage loss and seems unapolegetic for the hardship. This last time only four bags were loaded on a flight with forty-eight passangers and nobody noticed anything was wrong. I think that I might fare better by avoiding the Atlanta terminal. Has anyone any experience with Korean Airline. I am guessing that John M. might have. The flights that I looked at depart from Chicago so I am hoping that maybe they have their act together there.

Tom: Typical Delta / NWA service. KAL has been OK in my experience, though I have never flown them long haul...only short hops between Japan and Korea and domestic in Korea. Incheon is a very efficient airport, so you probably won't have problems through there (It is also a really good transit airport if you have a long transit time...Try eating in the traditional Korean restaurant in the KAL terminal... Really good for airport food.) On the US end, I have fewer problems at O'hare than Atlanta. However, if you are flying in December or later, keep in mind the potential weather delays at O'hare.

    Hi Tom,
I always fly Korean to/from Asia. I've tried the others and, though they're not too fancy & the seats can be a bit tight - I'm 6'2" - they have never lost any of my baggage. As well, they are a bit tight on security, which is probably a good thing, these days. The food isn't thrilling, though, might be an idea to bring some snacks if you use them. My wife flew down on Korean, in July, and spent a week in Seoul. She's flying back on Korean, as well. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the input guys. I miss the NWA before the merger with Delta when they departed from Minneapolis. I think that most of the problems come from the Atlanta airport absorbing all of the NWA flights that were delegated to Detroit and Minneapolis earlier. At least with Korean I will stil get my miles for NWA as they are connected.

My advice is to avoid all US based airlines period. Any Asian based airline has ten times better service. When I go to the US I won't even take a domestic flight. I would rather rent a car or walk. haha
