Moving to the Philippines from the UK

    Where is the best place to live in the Philippines? I would love to live there and hopefully get to see my husband more than I do now. I live in the UK and he works on cruise ships so I only see him about twice a year and then he has to go back to the Philippines to sign up for his new contract.

    We had hoped that he could live here but a call to the Home Office didn't give much hope in that he would not be able to work for a minimum of 6 months because he would have to hand over his passport. With relatives to provide for back in the Philippines and a mortgage that was not an option.

    The alternative is for me to move there.

    As most people who frequent this forum will tell you there are so many places to settle in the philippines, though I am also in the UK I also plan on moving to the Phils for me the choice of where to live has already been made by the fact of where my girlfriend lives,what i would suggest is spend a few weeks out there and see what the different areas have to offer, dont forget the important thing is to live in the phils wont be a holiday so consideration should be made on your day to day living, the other significant factor is health insurance. I dont wish in any way to discourage you from moving to the phils but i would explore all the pros and cons before hand I am sure Bob and co could give you more accurate advice than i could ever give,
