Gone Fishing . . .
Hello Everyone,
I’m currently on vacation in Canada. Normally I’d like to upload a new post for the Small Business File, but the nature of my travels has me in different places and without normal ammenities that help in making a regular e-column come to ‘print’. That’s code for my two year old has greater luggage requirements than me, so I had to leave the laptop at home in favour of a set of toy construction vehicles, a portable DVD player and his favourite story books. There is a silver lining to leaving the laptop at home — it means I have a chance to keep both of my eyes open for great small business opportunities and ideas from Canada that may just work in the Philippines. Thanks for your understanding, and I look forward to uploading a new post in a couple weeks time.

Hello Martin,
Catch a fish for me! I haven’t been back to my homeland for 7 years. No regrets - just miss the fishing!
Hi Martin, hope you have fun catching the tail end of summer. September is my favourite month - not too hot, and not too cold.
Hi Martin,
I haven’t been home since ‘81, but that glorious place lives in my heart. Have the best vacation ever. Discover wonderous opportunities. And catch a fish for me, eh?
Karen
Hi Martin,
Yes, good fishing to you, and enjoy yourself..you don’t always need your laptop everywhere…especially when trying to enjoy yourself..and relax with the family.
Take care, and see you when you get back,

Danny
Hi John, Ellen, Karen, and Danny,
Thank you all for your kind words. The weather has been great, the fish have been biting, and it has been nice visiting the ‘old sod’ for a change of pace. I’m glad to be back wrting again. Hopefully I’ll be able to incorporate some of the ideas I have had while keeping my eyes open in western Canada.
Cheers!
Hi Martin - I am sure you had a great time. I remember Canada, when I stayed there for three months (in a tent) in 1975. Caught a fish? Never. We bought our goods along the highway and grilled it proudly
in front of our tents and caravan… - Anyway, good to see you back!
Hi Klaus,
One thing is for sure — while it is hard to beat the freshness of fish caught freshly from the lake, you get much better variety of fish at the supermarket! Ha Ha Ha!
I have an aunt and uncle who just visited Germany last year and had a wonderful time. Hopefully I can visit your homeland one day too! I’d like to do a tour of the countryside in Germany like you were able to do in Canada.
Cheers!
Hi Martin, hahaha, yeah, you are really right…Let me know, if you have plans for your Germany country tour. Maybe I can help you with some additional information. Btw: British Columbia “really took my breath away’…
